MS just need to keep doing what they are doing make sure they never launch a console like they did the Xbox One.

Evidently, Sony is hardly doing anything at all to achieve their sales. MS could have been doing just as well or dented the PS4's significant lead if it wasn't for the Pre-launch controversies.

I think everyone just conveniently forgot the PS1 and PS2. By Sony's standards the PS3 was a failure when compared to their previous consoles. And it sold over 80M consoles. Sony has always been the market leader since the PS1 gen.

As for the OP, there is nothing they can do. Not this gen and not next gen unless Sony find a way to fuck things up which I think is near impossible when considering the path their on now. MS is at least much better off than Nintendo. They are still selling better than the 360 did and that's all they have to keep doing. If they cab get to 40M even if the PS4 is at 100M that would be a success in my book and would at least mean they are profitable and can't be ignored by third parties. So all they have to do is just ride out this gen and remain competitive.

As for Nintendo.... they need to be very clear with what direction they are trying to go. cause its a bad thing when everyone is confused as to where your platform is going. I however feel the best thing they can do is make as close to conventional a console as they can and wait for the PS5/XB2 launch and be sure to launch along side them. And people always say Nintendo exclusives, but history has shown that a console cannot thrive on exclusives alone. Nintendo needs to take this time and secure third party partnerships. Cause an NX with Nintendo exclusives will be great, but will be greater if it also had third party support.
