Crazzy, you don't get it. You are comparing a console with more sales data over time than the other.

You need to break it down by sales months to understand what I mean.

At the end of 2001, PS2 had a total of (Japan = 22 months) + (America = 14 months) + (Euro = 13 months) = 49 months of sales.

At the end of 2008, PS3 will have a total of (Japan = 26 months) + (America = 26 months) + (Euro = 21 months) = 73 months of sales.

And while were have it broken down by month, let's look at what monthly sales were for PS2 and what PS3 will do if it were to sell the PS2 total using Crazzy's time frame.
PS2 = 21,518,652 / 49 months = 439,156 per month.
PS3 = 21,518,652 / 73 months = 294,776 per month for PS3 to have the same total sales as PS2 using your comparison.

Hmm, damn sure doesn't look like PS3 is selling as well to me.

Now I can understand comparing week to week just for the hell of it provided you understand it's arbitrary and not rational
