It's more profitable for them to just take the existing hardware for another gen.  No r&d needed.  Possible a little for a Vita 3.0

They do a respectable number of software a year on it and they'd be stupid not to hold onto that for another 5 or 6 years.  And it's an important crutch for the ps4.

Like ps4 can get a game like God eater 3 that will sell over 100k because they can do a Vita version which will do a lot better.

A kinda NewVita+ console with added RAM, +6" Screen, added triggers, 4 to 8gb of internal storage, or even better, SD Memory Card support... They could twitch the same CPU and GPU to higher speedclocks and it would do the trick, like in New3DS.

Yeah, is a nice idea I ad some weeks ago, when talking about preditions for the PSX announements related to Vita... But nothing of that Hapenned, Vita TV released more than 1 and half year ago already, So I don't see SONY doing something logical to keep the healthy portable market they have in Japan. And with PSVR being their next fous, even less.. If that thing is succesful, we ould end with a PSVita and a PS4 laking first party support on Exclusive games.

That's about as far as I'd go. It would be fully compatible but the new version could get more ports from ps4 games as it would be more powerful.

I still think a Vita 3.0 for $129 would be best.
