I've been hoping that for a while to be honest. I think undoubtedly it will flop, and then they'll be back in the position they always are after a peripheral flops (i.e. Move).
PSP got a kind of second-wind in 2009/2010 with some Sony funded stuff (Jak/Clank/GT/Resistance/SOCOM) although I struggle to think how Vita will still be relevant by the time VR flops and the studios have time to actually make a game from scratch ( ~ 2 years).
