Seriously? Kinect? You compare input to output? At least say 3D.
Motion control doesn't make a game unconventional in the sense VR does. It's just another kind of input peripheral, like mouse&keyboard or a gamepad. It doesn't transfer the user to a different perspective. With Kinect you get what you see, no matter if you're actively using it or passively watching. In VR on the other hand, to either experience it actively or passively you have to put something directly infront of your eyes.
One has to try VR individually, then and only then he/she can make up his mind and have their opinion about it. Yeah, and this my opinion... *rolling eyes*
