VALVE OUTLINES FORTHCOMING STEAM CONTROLLER IMPROVEMENTS
http://www.pcgamer.com/valve-outlines-forthcoming-steam-controller-improvements/
The Steam Controller has been out for a while now, and early adopters have inevitably discovered tricks that Valve hadn't planned. In a new update outlining the improvements made since launch – as well as those still forthcoming – the company draws attention to some of these hidden benefits. For example: did you know you can use the pad's Gyro tracking in concert with its trackpad for greater aiming precision? Well, you can.
>>And there's also a video showing how the controllers are made.
WINTER VEIL DESCENDS UPON HEARTHSTONE
http://www.pcgamer.com/winter-veil-descends-upon-hearthstone/
As I get older, I find my attempts at Christmas become ever more cursory: I haven't begun shopping for presents; my Christmas tree is more of a Christmas shrub; and I can't even decide what I want from those who deign to ask me. It's all a lot of effort. Apparently Blizzard feels the same way, because the Winter Veil 'event' has descended on Hearthstone and it's not the company's most lavish Christmas do.

The Jack the Ripper DLC that was announced for Assassin's Creed Syndicate a few months ago now has a proper release date—December 22—and a story trailer that shines an entirely new light on what we've got to look forward to.

MECHWARRIOR ONLINE IS NOW ON STEAM
http://www.pcgamer.com/mechwarrior-online-is-now-on-steam/
Mechwarrior Online's Community Warfare mode was originally expected to be operational in early 2013, but it didn't get into open beta until late in 2014. That longer-than-expected wait frustrated a lot of players, and CW certainly wasn't perfect when it kicked off, as we noted in our preview. But it was a big and much-needed step in the right direction, and with today's launch on Steam it's now "ready for full player participation."

CS:GO R8 REVOLVER GETS NERFED AFTER THREE DAYS
http://www.pcgamer.com/csgo-r8-revolver-gets-nerfed-after-three-days/
We brought in a specialist to tell us in no uncertain terms how utterly daft Counter-Strike: Global Offensive's new R8 revolver was. Just three days after the R8 was patched in for the Winter Update, Valve appears to agree with the conclusion that a one-shotting pistol with pinpoint accuracy is silly.
HOTLINE MIAMI 2 LEVEL EDITOR BETA NOW LIVE
http://www.pcgamer.com/hotline-miami-2-level-editor-beta-now-live/
Do you like your ultraviolence to have that personal touch? Chris was enraged by Hotline Miami 2's propensity to shoot him from off-screen, but now the tools are here to fix that—or make it much worse.
RAINBOW SIX SIEGE AMA ADDRESSES HIT DETECTION ISSUES
http://www.pcgamer.com/rainbow-six-siege-ama-addresses-hit-detection-issues/
The Rainbow Six Siege dev team recently took questions in an AMA on the Ubisoft forums, and despite the usual non-committal 'at this time'-ing and 'no current-plans'-ing that accompanies any large publisher's response to probing questions, some interesting titbits came to light, particularly regarding Ubi's attitude to reported hit detection issues.
CYBERSPACE TWIN-STICK WAVES 2 HITS EARLY ACCESS NEXT WEEK

Phil tells me he's lost friends score-chasing in Waves, but I don't play score attack games any more. Not since the incident. However, if you're up for straining your relationships with a glow-in-the-dark twin-stick shooter, Waves 2 (Waves Squared, I should say) will be crashing into Early Access on December 16.

SWITCHCARS, A GAME OF CAR SWITCHING AND KILLER LANDFISH, IS ON GREENLIGHT
http://www.pcgamer.com/switchcars-a-game-of-car-switching-and-killer-landfish-is-on-greenlight/
It takes a certain je ne sais quoi for a game to get noticed in Steam Greenlight these days. Switchcars has convinced me that that mysterious quality is in fact time-trial hitchhiking while being pursued by a gigantic murderous landfish.
