I doubt it will be succesfull. They said it's going to be priced comparable to a new console so it'll most likely be pretty expensive. Also, it only works with ps4 (right?) which limits the audience. Furthermore, while Playstation is good at marketing products as 'cool' I suspect many people will still consider wearing the device to be a bit nerdy as well as impractical. Finally, I question whether many big developers will be investing heavily in VR as I'm not sure it will be their best option financially. Of course it will get games, but it needs something big to persuade the masses.
I do think VR is going to be big in the future, I just doubt the PSVR launch will be a turning point. Hope to be proven wrong though, and that it turns out to be amazing
