As for droping the optical drive, the builds are for the people of this site and (as I've said to Chazore) they will take any excuse to moan about it. That's why we also add keyboard, mouse and the OS, to avoid any source of conflict. But yes, droping the optical ddrive would allow me to get the better CPU and, with a couple more changes (like going with the cheaped kb+m of the first build and using the 970 instead of the 390), I almost could go for the 16GB of RAM. |
Oh dear, I knew it was bad, I remember seeing some data, but I had no idea it's that bad. Funny thing is, they bought Maxtor back in days, those were equally bad, so instead of going WD way and buying good manufacturer (like Hitachi, which is IBM basically), they expended their portfolio with another crap.
