I know a fair amount of United fans from manchester; i met most of them on the stretford end when I went to games (back when season tickets were £300, now theyre £700 and I cant fucking afford that. fucking glazers).
I'm from preston btw, which is about 30 miles from manchester. Bandwagon syndrome would have me supporting chelsea :P
