Just don't get the Wii Mini. I don't know if you play online games or if any developer still supports Wii Online servers, but even if they did the Wii Mini doesn't get internet connection or Gamecube Backwards Compaitbility. If you want to modify a PS3 get a phat 3.55 if not go as slim as you can go and the "Super Slim" is quite good. Xbox 360, I still have my old one from release. Don't know if they made a slim model of that or not. You really can't go wrong right now.
