What the hell is going on with the 8th gen?

Several games has been releasing incomplete to extort more and more consumers beyond clear of micro transactions an example is battlefront which released 50 % at stake and another 50 % will launch in dlc , I think pathetic as the square want to treat your best game history and its customers in delivering episodes to extort more money from them ( yes I am talking about Final Fantasy VII Remake ) miss my ps1 where only worry was whether the memory card have enough memory for the save .
