Why does everyone hate FF VIII?

IMHO the magic draw system and the weapon upgrade methods really broke the gameplay.

I gotta admit though, "that" scene with Odin was easily the biggest shocked in the game. 0____0 *NO WAY!?!?!?!?!?*
