I don't know if there ever was, but it's certainly less tolerated today. Gamers can't stay excited for almost a year of nothing. Hype dies fast, and needs to be regularly replenished. Sony gets this. Microsoft gets this. Games like Uncharted 4 recieve new material rolled out every few months to sustain the hype train. Nintendo should be doing the same thing with Zelda. Instead, they give it a little push, then sit back and let it run out of momentum and grind to a halt. I'm not sure I can ever remember there being less hype for a Zelda game a year out. |
