That's what the weeklies are for. :) If I'm not mistaken, NPD's November period always ends the weekend before Cyber Monday. So, CM will always be part of "Week 1" of December for both Amazon and NPD. By using the weekly rankings we can sort for the effects of Cyber Monday on the Amazon charts for November. Each of the four weeks that covered the period from Nov. 2 to Nov. 29 this year had the PS4 ahead plus November as a whole had the PS4 ahead, so it stands to reason that the PS4 won not Amazon for November but also November's NPD. Plus the PS4 had a ton of preorders for the Star Wars & COD bundles. |
As far as I know Black Friday is always the last friday of the month of November. And as NPD do 4-4-5 week and don't care about calendar that much (could have like 6 days of November in December first week) or December days on January first week even if its leaping a year. So yes, as you said Cyber Monday will always be part of Week on of December and not necessarily be a calendar december day.
But this kind of bizarre situation may not happen again because of the way the deals were made.
