Mad Max is 1080p on both. Fallout 4 is 1080p on both. That's just 2 recent example, there are more. For games that run at a lower resolution on XB1, there is better texture detail or a more consistent frame rate on XB1.
This recent article talks about texture filtering being better on XB1: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2015-vs-texture-filtering-on-console
I sometimes wonder if Sony is deliberately telling developers to sacrifice game performance for resolution?
Oh, and I think Fallout 4 would have been better at 900p to keep a consistent framerate. Or maybe the game was just not optimised properly for the consoles. |
