Metascore is accurate. Since it''s not just about one publisher reviewed like IGN or GameSpot, but a combination of multiple sources + the users score. This make it highly creditable, since it's not just ONE reviewer nor ONE user rating but LOT of them combined so no biased there.
Another factor is dat even if the critics love it like Masterchiefcollection, but the launch turn out to be a disaster, or it's just broken then we can still look at the userscore to know why.
Or Fallout 4, the game have great reviews on critics but the Users downgraded for whatever reasons ( i guess they're just upsetting and overreacted, or just trolls. ) We can still look at the Critics for some better perspective.
Or the Order 1886, if the game just plain suck, then both the critics & users will disliked.
