Parsing the PR it's kind of clear on a couple of between the lines points :

(1)- They start out talking about X hours spent on Xbox Live. Lol. That can't be a great sign.

(2)- They start the next point talking about Xbox Black Friday sales on Xbox Store (digital). Okay. Another case of sort of burying the lead.

(3)- THEN they make a somewhat confusing statement : "U.S. Xbox One console sales at retail were up 22 percent over the same period last year, making it the second biggest Black Friday week in 15 years of Xbox history in the U.S." Okay, now we have something to work with, but it's clear they're talking about BF week and nothing to do with the month, nor do they mention the competition. November is over, but they focus purely on 'Black Friday week'. Interpreting that makes it somewhat impossible to gauge exactly how they did over the month, but we can presumably connect the dots that November overall wasn't a historic success, but that the BF $299 sale did VERY well for them, even if it didn't 'win' BF.

I still think X1 will have sold more than 1M units in November NPD (1.1M vs. 1.25M are my predictions for X1/PS4), but this PR makes me a little less confident in the X1 numbers.
