Here in the UK we have VAT and the tax on electonics applied by the government. It also doesn't help that distributors/retailers have to pay hefty import fee's getting the products into the shop. One example is EVGA EU gets their products straight from the states, one reason the prices are so much higher.

Yeah it's getting pretty insane and I live on the IoM, I tried grabbing a cheap 16gb RAM kit over on Newegg for £50, after the import costs and VAT charge it went up to a whopping £95-115 (oddly the standard delivery costs more than the 2 day which makes no sense), instead I held off buying it and opted for a different kit over on Amazon for nearly £70. It's annoying as hell when it comes to VAT and import charges, feels like we're almost entering Russian levels of import costs which is making me choose and shop extremely wisely for new hardware.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
