Define dying? not outselling the US? then i have news for you it never sold more consoles than the US in its history. Japan is number 2 its undeniable, they outproduce the UK in games production and probably allready outsold in console sales as well.

And since when are people meassuring consumption over production, i see defeniatley more japanese console manufactors, games and publishers than from other western countries if you take out the US out

Dude, give it a rest. Console sales have been on a decline in Japan since the PS2, and things are only getting worse. Japanese devs are very much aware of this, which is why so many of them are moving to mobile gaming, and, those who arent, are either shifting their focus to the much more lucrative western markets, or working with a very low budget in hopes of breaking even in the ever-shrinking Japanese market. Hell, a lot of japanese games are even coming to Steam now. Why do you think that is?
