Not really he himself just doesn't know the meaning behind NX doesn't mean they don't mean anything, the X imo could indicate the platform being cross platform based like what people have been speculating.
"So the Wii brand really is going to die with the WiiU. Sad, it had a decent run, broke a lot of records and led the way to many forms of gaming. Hope Nintendo keeps the name around for something else."
The name caused confusion among consumers, for a whole year and a half many didn't even realize it was a new console.
