Sounds like an idea, though for the GBP part can we up the last build to say £800?, since those seem to be the near top end sweet spots if not £1000 (I've spend practically near 1k on my rig already).
Also as you say this, Linus came out with an 8core build that does seem to cut some corners for it's price ratio:
