Not only that, but they have to pay EA for every copy of Battlefront in those bundles. This way they got to sell a ton of cheaper (for them) bundles for Black Friday and still capitalize on the Star Wars hype.

The deal between EA, Sony, and Disney is a little more lucrative than that. As far as I'm aware we don't know the details but seeing as Disney owns the IP, I would assume that they would be the ones eating any kind of loss on the software & hardware side of things under some sort of contractual obligation. What's more, I'd assume that they're also the ones to hit the big red shiny button that starts a firesale.
