To quote myself from 25 March 2011:

If im conservative with the trends this is what I see:

NES: july 15, 1983

SNES: Novermber 21, 1990 - 88 months

N64: June 23, 1996 - 67 months

GC: September 14, 2001 - 57 months

Wii: November 19, 2006 - 62 months

Wii2: Prediction - 65 months or May, 2012

PS1: december 3, 1994 -

PS2: march 4, 2000 - 63 months

PS3: november 11, 2006 - 80 months

PS4: Prediction - 84 months or November, 2013

These are all US release dates, the only release date that matters IMO.

Wii U (Wii2) came out November 18, 2012 so 72 months.

PS4 came out November 15, 2013 so 84 months exactly as I predicted.

This proves that the generations are not really getting shorter, they are either staying the same or getting longer, which was what was being discussed in the thread I quoted myself from.

I predict, again conservatively, that if the trend holds:

NX (Wii3) will release November 2018 (72 months) or later.

PS5 will release November 2020 or later.
