They simply wouldn't have a choice but to release revised consoles. unless of course they just like the idea of paying more for everything. And by more for everything I mean even more than what they are paying now. 

And to elaborate further, I think it's kind of a silly question. No offence to the op (maybe a little :p) but there's no reason to suggest a buck in the trend. It provides a way to reduce production costs even more and a great marketing opportunity. 

As well as reducing power consumption which reduces heat, which makes systems quieter etc.... there are a number of reasons why a revision will absolutely happen.
