It says SFA about Russia's ability. if you think even the best new bombers from the US would stand up to an F-16 fighter or even an old Su-24 fighter you are living in a dream land, the F-16 is still one of the better air-air combat jets, an unescorted bomber (i.e. the SU-24m that was shot down) has litterally zero chance against it. Russia also has a lot better fighters and bombers which are arguably better than the US's modern equivalents. depending on who you ask the su-35 ranks as the best or in the top 2 or 3 fighter jets in the world today
