I think what your friend is doing is wrong, and pretty much on the level of piracy. But I highly doubt he'll think twice about what he's doing.
I miss the old days, where if someone pirated a game, or stole a game, or what have you, they pretty much kept it to themselves and didn't really want to let a whole bunch of people know. Now pirates act like they're Robin Hood, that they're the victims, that when companies do something they disagree with they get a free pass, and that what they do is justified because of evil corporations, capitalism, etc., so we get a bunch of messages about people acting like they're heroes "sticking it to the man".
It's not bread to feed your starving family. It's video games.
Again, people are going to do what people are going to do. But please stop trying to pretend you're heroes or victims.
