Pretty much what the title says, knowing everything that's happened this gen, how will it affect your purchasing power next gen?

For me: I haven't been impressed with the Xbox One's first party offerings that much (in terms of quantity and genre). I'm liking Son'y approach this generation for overall variety and Japanese support.

Therefore, I'm planning on maining a PS5 and maybe getting an Xbox Two for some of the exclusives.

I've tremendously enjoyed the 3DS and its offerings, so I plan on getting a next handheld day one; knowing Nintendo's handheld track record. However, on the opposite end of the spectrum, I've been very disappointed with the Wii U and its releases. Meaning I'll wait to get a Nintendo console, much further down the line.

Anything you regret you did this gen (so far)?

For me it was buying all three consoles too soon. I found that I could have waited and saved money on some of them, since one, or two don't even get used much. Also, I don't plan on buying many new games at full price. I've now found it's better to wait for the patches, and wait for a discount days like today!

I know this thread is a little premature, but I don't see a problem with discussing how you will approach change for next time.

Disclaimer: This thread is based on the assumption that what Company A does this generation as percieved "good," will be carried on to next generation. I know this might not be the case, but it's a solid indicator of how to perceive future events. Thanks!
