360 was competing head to head with the PS2 in the 360's first year. RROD has been a major issue. Faulty disk drives are probably as big of an issue as RROD but not spoken about as much as the RROD issue.

360 launch models were reported to be as being as high as 33% RROD. With new chips that has been reduced to 10% RROD. Following the reduction expect RROD in later models to further decrease to below 5% levels.

So you know the *current* rate of failure?

How come the Xbox is selling at a much higher rate than last year and yet we don't hear so much about the RROD? It's disapeared off the forum pretty much. We get a few "My PS3 has died" and a few RROD cases but nothing like a year ago. Its not directly evidential but its better than what you may have read on the internet 6 months ago which may not have even been a credible source.

Tease.
