360 was competing head to head with the PS2 in the 360's first year. RROD has been a major issue. Faulty disk drives are probably as big of an issue as RROD but not spoken about as much as the RROD issue.
360 launch models were reported to be as being as high as 33% RROD. With new chips that has been reduced to 10% RROD. Following the reduction expect RROD in later models to further decrease to below 5% levels.
