Is it just me, or does the industry seem to experiencing shooter fatigue? All the big FPS franchises seem to be down this gen, and I don't see any new games taking their place. Except for destiny, I guess, but I dunno if that's big enough to explain everything.

It'll be interesting to see if Gears 4 is able to defy this trend next year.

Also, with these sales numbers, I wonder if M$ will have 343i branch out a bit after Halo 6. Maybe into new IP's, or at the very least new genres in the Halo universe.

Gears is no FPS.

Right now we have three big MP-heavy FPS at once. At least on Xbox One. And Halo MCC had massive MP issues in the beginning. With a campaign that's rated good but not great many might have waited how Guardians MP turns out to be.

And yes, there is the digital sales side. Not specific for Halo though. It's always your personal microcosm but i know more and more people that buy at least MP heavy games digital.
