I said it after E3 and had a few people tell me I was wrong but the anticipation for Halo 5 was noticeably less than for Halo 4. Previous Halo entries screamed "epic", while Halo 5 felt more like "further adventures in the Halo universe starring Master Chief and Friends!" The vibe was much different and I don't think it made many non-hardcore Halo fans consider it a must-play game.

This, I think, is what happens when a publisher basically tells you that this series is going to go on forever. You lose that sense of meaningfulness.

when you pretty much know that there is no end for the story, that its going to be an endless cycle of more and more enemies. you lose that intensity. the story becomes meaningless.

its like a soap oprah, no matter how much you watch, you will never see the end. and stories without an ending are basically shit.
