I agree with you. In a situation like that, it's survival of the fittest. If I manage to get into the lifeboat, there's no way I'm giving it up to any other man or woman.  It may sound cynical and "unmanly" for some, but I value my life more than an unknown person's life, even if that person happens to be a woman.

have you ever a though if the woman at the boot is your mother , sister or wife, girlfriend?

You didn't ask me, but here's my take on that:

I know them and I love them. If I give my life for them, it is because I cherish them, not because they are women. If I'd give my life for the women I cherish, I would also give my life for the men I cherish.

and if there is no one in the boat that you know close only strangers,  in near death momentt whose is the person that you will remember first, your mother or the man that you cherish for?
