Unless a phone is Apple or Samsung, it's going to have a hard time selling. Phones are about social status these days. Fan service alone, is not enough for a company to stay afloat on (ala Nokia/Sega)

it wouldnt matter because they get the roaylties from the games sold and probably apps in general somthing like 10% for each dollar.

 

if those would be vita numbers they would make more money than with the PS4

they dont get the roaylties from adroind store sales if there are any, thats why the Smartphone bussines dont make them any money

They will also have to pay money to M$ and other patent holders to make each phone. It's not going to be a free venture. Also, considering Vita software obviously isn't flying off the shelves, where is this revenue coming from? They will have to pry people off of their Apple, Android and Windows apps to make money off of apps. Their only chance to survive in the cellphone space is to join either Android or Windows. Look at what happened to Nokia, they were a tried and true cellphone company. Their OS couldn't hang anymore and they got left behind. Blackberry shared the same fate. Those two were big dogs

Thats because they didnt demand the same kinda royalties like on handhelds. Windows phones dont make money either
