If Link were a single established character (like Samus which you bring up) then I doubt it would be as highly suggested. It's because with the character it makes sense and if you have a character which is a hero chosen by destiny with a fresh person everytime and you never get a female hero that seems to say something about how this world chooses its saviors. |
By that logic, why should Link always have blonde hair or be white?
