When Will the Frame Rate Standard Go Beyond 60fps?

My question is: how long until "gamers" start preaching how they can SEE a HUGE difference between 60 fps and 120 fps and a game simply can't be played at JUST 60 fps? Then we'll know we've reached a whole new generation.
