Hmm, this is kinda a 4 way tie between Stella Glow, Fatal Frame 4, Splatoon, and Mario Maker. Stella Glow because of how excellent it has been. I thought it would be just okay, but I find myself completely glued to it. It is so superb, I want to do a review on it @_@
Fatal Frame 4 not only because it was better than I thought, but also because it's so expertly crafted. It surpassed Fatal Frame 1, which I thought would be impossible at this point, but FFrame 4 took the series to an all time high. I can never sing this game's praise enough.
Splatoon because it was a new IP from Nintendo, which is a shocker, but also an excellently made game with fresh new ideas in them in a genre I commonly hate. For Ninten to make a genre I strongly dislike into something I really like, that is a shocker...
And Mario Maker. I was surprised to find how easy and addicting making stages was, as well as the things people have been capable of making. It is simply amazing what the players can make.
Man, these games have me all excited now! x D
