According to the Azure Revolution’s director Takeshi Ozawa, the new title in the series will be an RPG with a real-time system.
“Initially, we were considering real-time strategy, but we went with an RPG because we think that’s what more users will want to play,” Ozawa told Famitsu. “The concept of the battle system and the sensation of the battlefield are the same, but because it’s an RPG with simulation elements, you can experience the battlefield through a different perspective.”
Similar to an RPG where players “go into dungeons,” Ozawa said players will prepare for battle at their base, go out into the field to complete objectives, and return to the base.
Action battles will be “conducted by setting commands to buttons,” and the party limit will be five.
“You control one of them, and the rest move based on a set thought process,” he added.
