Shhhh don't say that or someone may accuse you of being a liar or a hater.

But seriously I feel exactly the same about both. Is really amazing the amount of things you can find in every corner of Fallout 4, for me is mindblowing, I tried to explore some of the most hidden and recondite places of the game, places that anybody would think they are empty, and no, I always end up finding something new. And frequently I discover places that tell a short story even without words, little things that are not relevant for the overall story but make the world feel so real, alive and interesting to explore, I love that game, and I wasn't expecting it tbh, because I was having the feel this was going to be just more of the same but worse, and I was wrong, I think is better than Fallout 3 at least from a gameplay and world design pov.

After about 35 hours of Fallout 4 now, the one thing that sticks out for me is the terrible effort in side quests, which is a staple of Bethesda games of late. Side quests are a huge factor in RPG's. And the combat in Fallout 4 is way too easy, I have yet to use VATS a single time myself since you can just blast everything in Sneak mode, not unlike bow + arrow + sneak in Skyrim.

Overall, I loved The Witcher 3 combat, it's challenging and I loved the controls myself. But I can see how some would be put off by them, it feels heavy and awkward compared to most games, because they didn't want combat like in most games. It reminds me a fair deal about the Souls games, which is a good thing. I also enjoy the contract killings and the preparation/sign/bomb and weak/strong attack combos, makes for some spectacular fights at times.

But I like Dark Soul combat. I don't like TW3 combat.

And for F4 you can go stealth mode, you can go Leroy Jenkins mode, you can just not fight at all in a lot of cases, you can go into a shop then hack a robot, configure a cop personality and watch him go killing all your enemies in the zone and things like that. It may not be complex but there are several ways to make things and the controls feel good, better than on previous fallout, and is not that easy, almost at the beggining the game makes you fight against a deathclaw while a dozens of enemies are trying to kill you at the same time, and some localizations have really strong enemies, you have to take a lot of care of what you do, is the kind of game where you think you have everything under control and suddlenly you find yourself against a bunch of enemies that destroy you.

Overall the sense of freedom on F4 is way, way higher than on Tw3, and not only in combat, Tw3 feels is incredibly linear and restrictive for an open world game with so much hype (is barely an open world to beggin with). Is obviously a good game but for me is too overrated, a well written story and good looking graphics may be more than enough for some to ignore its flaws. And that´s cool. But not my case. I will give it another try on the future probably but I doubt it changes my mind a lot.
