PS2 and Xbox 360 were also dead. Yet they got very good support at the end of their lifetime. Lots of third party games and exclusives. Thing is longevity is important. Nintendo dont do much longevity when it comes to home consoles.

Your talking about two of the most successful consoles of their generation. Especially the PS2, at the end of their lifetime their install base were massives. PS2 is the best selling consoles of all time.

WiiU is at the end of the lifecycle and only has 14 million sold... most of these system are simply collecting dust.

Last time I CHECKED Wii was the most successful console of its generation. NOT XBOX 360. Where was Wii support at the end of its lifecycle?

Check again..... look at software sold. Wii sold to everyone including Grandpa and Grandma who only ever playing Wii Sports. Wii was a massive success for Nintendo and made them insane amount of money but most of this money on the casual market. The Wii alienated hardcore gamers and many longtime Nintendo fans have moved on to PS3 and Xbox 360 during that generation. Just look at what is happening now, the WiiU hardware is a joke and can barely surpass PS3/360 level of graphics.
