They are both amazing ass games that warrant playing. And you shouldn't play both at the same time. They're both open world and both have a lot of RPG elements, but that's kind of where the similarities end. Witcher is a more traditional RPG and has a deeper inventory system and magic elements. It also has better writing. You get a grand story with many elements and paths to take to get there. In Fallout it's more about exploring and surviving. I prefer Fallout's combat but Witcher's combat is also great.

As others have said, I would buy Witcher 3 and spend 100+ hours on that, and then later pick up Fallout 4.
