There appears to be gunfire at the bottom right of the image. But in the upper right corner it kinda looks like the male protagonist does a spin attack or something with his sword.

Maybe there will be guns and hand to hand combat weapons this time around.
It makes sense that the male protagonist doesn't have a gun since he is from an anti-Valkyria unit, and guns dont really work well on Valkyrians. Him and the girl may be dressed that way because she is a princess and he's the leader of a special unit. Or perhaps they want to look like civilians and not give away their identity.

As for Brynhildr, she has a schyte, and Selveria had a lance.

Yeah, I just wish the picture was bigger so we could see it better x ) I heard the gun play will return. This just looks different from how the original look, and I find that interesting, haha. I don't really know much about the game though. I really need to learn more about it... x_x
