I also don't think it's that dirty. Ideally, the hardware will be desirable on the hardware side for both. This just gives each game a software benefit as well. Nah, you're right. It's pretty dirty. But compared to Amiibo, it's the virgin Mary. It's actually exactly like Amiibo. Except you only need one Amiibo to work across every game. And it unlocks all of the content, not just specific to that specific Amiibo. And it's $200+. And it's a fully functioning hardware device that you can play all the games you bought for the first device without needing to buy them again or start a new save. So actually, it's not exactly like Amiibo at all. |
Haha, at this point, I'm not sure if it's like amiibo or not. Though, with the Mewtwo thing, thinking on it, it doesn't seem bad. It's free to people who happened to have both version of the game, and for the rest of the audience, it's dlc, which is standard for post release content. No one is really getting cheated.
Having the full content availble only if you own both devices would be wrong, though it could be negated for people who wanted them both anyways. It's a grey area that falls more the bad side. I just hope they have the full content from the start and not require hoops to get everything, or just offer it as dlc if you only own one of the two...
Dance my pretties!
