only those with tinfoil hats that live in their mothers basements would do anything but laugh at that report. Lets ignore the human casualties for a moment and the massive backlash Russia would face and look at the economic fallout. Russia has huge financial interests in Syria as well as political ties, they aren't abandoning billions of dollars and suffering the backlash such an action would take just for revenge, especially when they have the conventional weapons arsenal to easily deal with the region should they choose to do so.
