I can see future gens lasting longer and longer, because of deminishing returns on hardware.

Also we re getting closer and closer to the limits of how much we can shrink stuff... when we make the chips.

 

Console gens in the future will probably be longer than they are now.

It's crazy to think people thought this would be a 5 year generation.  It just isn't going to happen
