If there is some backstage situation in which it is being discussed whether some action you took as a mod was or wasn't correct and it is agreed that you were at fault, I think you should be given a chance and be allowed to reflect on this situation and help you be conscious of how the Head Mods want you to deal with a similar situation.
As you say, you are human and we all make mistakes.
I have a shit-ton of bans in my history (none from you Tachikoma, thanks by the way) and internalizing those bans has helped me remain without bans for a long while now. It is only fair that you will be also allowed to learn how they want you to act as a mod and, if you agree to what they ask of you, this could be a great opportunity to help even more this site.
