Reading this article it says using a hybrid drive or a 7200rpm drive helps out except for a slight stutter. Also, the 7200 had the slight advantage.
The thing about the hybrid drive is that it has 8gb of ssd, and it needs to be primed to be used correctly. In other words the more you use it, the faster it gets at handling those task.
I have no idea, how long they played it in that configuration. But a hybrid drive is easily a more cost efficent solution than a SSD.
you can pick up a 1tb sshd for $80 on Amazon. I picked one up on eBay for $65. Adorama constantly has sales on hard drives.
