I have it mounted horizontal. If you have a wall or it's in a cramped corner. Mount it vertical. So it can air with the most space. But it doesn't really matter that much. Make sure there's enough space between the RAM slots and the fan. I had mine on top of the ram. And damaged the slot, because of the vibrations.
