GUILD WARS 2 GETS ITS FIRST RAID NEXT WEEK

Guild Wars 2 has been out for three years now, but it's only now getting its first raid. Dubbed 'Spirit Vale', the ten-player instanced raid will kick off next week for all owners of the Heart of Thorns expansion. The raid will roll out in three parts – or "wings" – with the first starting on November 17.

It might have been lost in the blizzard of Fallout 4 news, but Steam Machines launched today in the US. To celebrate, Valve is running a sale on SteamOS compatible games over at Steam, so you can start filling up your box with games. For anyone without a Steam Machine or SteamOS for that matter, you can still get these games cheap for Windows.

It's easy to forget the sheer size of a spaceship when you're gadding about in it from a first-person view, so props to all those games that let you get out and appreciate their scale on foot. Elite: Dangerous doesn't quite go that far, but in its upcoming Horizons expansion you'll be able to view your hulking space vessel from one of the tiny buggies used to explore atmosphere-less planets.

JJ ABRAMS AND SHADOW COMPLEX DEV CHAIR ANNOUNCE SPYJINX, OUT NEXT YEAR

JJ Abrams and developer Chair (they made Shadow Complex and Infinity Blade) are collaborating on a game. That game is called Spyjinx, and it offers a "unique mix of action strategy gameplay, dynamic world building and RPG character development – all set in a thrilling, treacherous world of espionage". That tells us everything, and yet tells us nothing! It's out for PC and mobile next year.
