lol analog isn't a 4 directional joypad, if you were alive during that time you'd know just how crappy a 4 directional joy pad is even for new 2 games, later on for arcade purposes they started using 8 directionals and it worked.
The key difference is you use your thumb to control the analog; if you don't get the difference there, then history can't help you.
(Not saying that controller sucked, just saying what came out after was much better.)
Felt like punching brick walls using that thing to play pacman.
