I wouldn´t call it desperate, motion sensing controlled games are the future and the question for MS is/was were they going to do it now or next gen. This way by doing it this gen they might get the upper hand against $ony and keep them behind MS the rest of this gen. It´s going to be a hard battle for $ony to get passed MS and if this works it´s going to get even harder.
